We had a friend called Adam whose parents kept a boat moored on the canal behind their house. It was a weird thing; the bow was inverted and it was actually propelled by a paddle like on the mississippi steamboats (only smaller!). It was aptly called 'Platypus'. That stretch of the canal, thirty years on, is still known as Adam's boat. A lovely place. This is a leisurely cruise of a tune;found objects used here incude beer bottles and a tankard.
