Purple Recording is a professional 24 track digital studio in Leeds. It is set in a creative & acoustically engineered space. We have a wide range of facilities including 4 practice rooms as well as the studio, all of which are open to all local unsigned bands, independent artists, businesses & the public alike. We offer competitive rates and flexible hours, all types of projects large and small undertaken.
Established in 2006 by Martin Robinson, our recording studio is a warm, friendly and resourceful space. Building studios is a fine balance between art & science; we think we have succeeded in producing a unique working environment. Our studio has the largest and most flexible Live room in the region. We have a large area of off road parking, plenty of room for vans and tour buses, and we are only 5 minutes away from Leeds city centre.

SINGER / SONGWRITER - £95
A 4-hour session to record vocals, an acoustic guitar, piano or whatever you like. You can mix a track you have recorded at home, record a demo from scratch, master a CD... whatever you want to do.
UNSIGNED BANDS - £195 per day
8-hour sessions including an engineer/ producer and full use of the facilities; includes recording, mixing & the finished CD.
PURPLE 'RAW' - £120
Purple now offers bands the opportunity to record rehearsals in the studio.
You set up for a practice in the studio live room as usual. The engineer will then mic up and record the songs played during the rehearsal. The 6 hour session includes use of studio live room, microphones and engineer. At the end of your session you will be presented with a mix of your songs on CD. This is a live recording of your rehearsal and not a fully produced demo.
Full backline can be provided for the session from £20.
PARTY SESSION - £175
A fun & relaxed 3-hour group session for up to 12 people, recording vocals over pre-recorded backing tracks. You can record up to 3 songs of your choosing (subject to availability). Backing tracks are provided! A glass of chilled Champagne will be ready for your arrival (soft drinks available). Everyone gets a CD to take home included in the price.
VOCALIST / BACKING TRACK - £125
A 4-hour session to record vocals over pre-recorded backing tracks. You can record up to 3 songs of your choosing (subject to availability). Backing tracks are provided or you can bring your own!
HOURLY RATES
The Studio is available for use from £12 per hour for the live room only, £20 an hour for voice-over work and £25 per hour for all other recording.
You can archive any project onto DVD and/or take the files away to mix elsewhere for a small additional charge.
